At Main Street Health, we know the pain and limitation an injury or illness can cause. We also know that recovery outcomes are more successful when the patient is positive and focused on their rehabilitation. Your priority should be getting better, not filling out insurance paperwork. That’s why we have a dedicated insurance department to help with your claims.
The Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) provides little or no coverage for rehabilitation. Many rehab services are covered by extended health plans, though.
Extended health insurance is available through private insurance companies. Usually, these benefits are come from an employer through group insurance coverage. Self-employed people may access them through a professional association or directly from an insurer.
Extended health plans vary widely in terms of what treatments they cover and for how much. Some plans cover treatments entirely up to a maximum. Others require a deductible or only cover a certain percentage.
Because we know it can be confusing and time-consuming to figure out your insurance coverage, Main Street Health has a dedicated insurance department to help you figure out what medical benefits you’re entitled to.
If you’ve been injured on the job or in a motor vehicle accident, insurance coverage can be even more complex. You may be dealing with third-party insurance, workers compensation, or perhaps even a lawsuit.
With a long history of treating work-related disabilities and car accident injuries , Main Street Health is knowledgeable about WSIB and MVA insurance. Our friendly staff will help ensure you have all the proper paperwork completed for quick and easy processing of your claim.
As a Qualified Partner, Main Street Health is equipped for direct billing with most major insurance companies. Approvals and claims tend to be processed faster when billed directly.
Direct billing is the process of submitting an approval or claim request directly from the rehabilitation clinic, rather than through the insured party. In many cases, insurance companies will also pay the clinic directly, so patients don’t have to pay upfront out of pocket.
Please note that even if we’re a Qualified Partner with your insurance provider, you may still have to pay something upfront or out of pocket. You might have to pay if your plan only covers part of the treatment or will only reimburse you once you’ve paid the clinic.
Our insurance department will do everything they can to keep your treatments affordable. If you have questions or concerns about your insurance coverage, don’t hesitate to contact our staff.
